Hydration Pack Hack – Flavor With Out The Mess

Trying to add some flavor to your hydration pack? Yeah, we are too. The whole team at GenZ can admit that we have tried to pour sports drinks into our hydration bladder to be left with a stick messy afterward (if you have done this too, keep an eye out for our how to clean a hydration bladder tutorial).

If only there was a solution that you could hook up to you RaveRunner® that satisfied your taste buds and didn’t cause a sticky finger situation. Nothing is worse than having a pack with tricked out upgrades and a sticky hydration bladder.

Add Flavor To Your Pack

Our good friends at Infuze have come to the rescue with a must-have addition to any hydration pack! The Infuze Hydro is a patented device that allows you to customize the flavor of your hydration pack without the aftermath of cleaning all those sticky sports drinks and flavor enhancers out of your $100 packs.

The InFuze Hydroh

Ryan Lange, President of GenZ, is an avid ultra runner who is the youngest to runner 200 consective miles in the Moab 200. Ryan has put a few of the InFuze Hydro’s through real life testing, both at festivals and on these long endurance runs.

We love the durability of these guys. They have lasted hundreds of miles running and hours of headbanging at the main stage. Not once failing during their testing. Our favorite feature is the adjustable flavor intensity, a simple wheel turn increases the flavor or cuts back to pure water. And they work with any liquid flavor enhancer!

But what about that sticky nightmare we talked about earlier? The team at InFuze developed a backflow system that keeps the flavor flowing only into your mouth keeping your reservoir filled with clean water. Yes, that is right, you strap this little guy to your mouthpiece and you get flavor without the mess. No more needing to clean your reservoir just because you want some orange drank.

The InFuze Hydro retails for $44.95. Click here to purchase one now. Keep an eye out for our upcoming giveaway where we will be giving out two InFuze Hydros!

Step by Step Guide on Cleaning your Hydration Bladder

Staying hydrated is undoubtedly the number one priority while participating in an ourdoor event. This means we must, not only have a reliable hydration bladder, but a clean one as well. Here is a quick 5 step-by-step guide on how to clean your hydration bladder.

Step 1: Remove your Bladder

This is probably quite self-explanatory. Just be sure that when you remove a bladder from the RaveRunner®, that you do so gently. Push the plastic neck in, from the outside, while you pull the bladder out of the access point simultaneously.

Step 2: Find a Clean Sink

That’s right, a clean sink! This is your opportunity to finally do those dishes that have been hanging out for a couple days now! I recommend giving your sink a scrub down as well. You may fumble your bladder cap into the sink, and you’d want that to be clean, right? Also, be sure to cover the drain so you don’t lose your nozzle!

Step 3: Fill it up with Soap and Hot Water

This part is easy, but can cause a mess if you are clumbsy. Put a little bit of dish soap into you bladder. Be careful as you don’t need THAT much to clean it thouroughly. Now turn on the sink and fill the bladder with water. I would say just until the bladder is about 3/4 of the way filled. You’ll need space to be able to shake the water around inside the bladder.

Step 4: Shake It!

Shake it! This will allow the soap to get in all the spots it usually wouldn’t be able to. If you can rub the walls of the bladder together, that would be even better. By doing this, you’ll scrape off any grime that has built up!

Although, we hope your bladder has never gotten this dirty.

Step 5: Let It Chill…Bro

Seriously, let it sit for 30 minutes. I usually find myself cleaning my hydration bladder an hour before I believe. This gives me time to scramble and shove everything in my suitcase. Go through your checklist. Wallet? Tickets? Snacks?

Step 6: Drain It!

Now, this part may SEEM easy, but I think I make a mess everytime. Instead of pouring all of the water out via the cap, Hold the entire bladder up high with one hand and hold the tube with the other. Remove the nozzle and let all of the water flow out of the tube. This will allow the tube to be cleaned by the soapy water. If you are having trouble doing this, no problem. Take the tube off of the bladder and clean it seperatley.

Step 7: Replace it in your Pack!

Take your time replacing your bladder back in your pack. With the RaveRunner®, it is super important that you push the bladder neck lip OVER the fabric. This will stop the bladder from falling through the access hole. Now your all set! Go have some fun, there’s a good chance you deserve it.

8 Benefits of Secret Pockets on Your Hydration Pack

Are you constantly checking if you still have your money, wallet or phone at a festival? Do you have problems deciding what to carry and what to leave at the hotel because you don’t have enough space? We have all been there before…

These issues are solvable by getting a backpack with secret compartments. Not many backpacks, let alone hydration packs, have secret pockets on them. Investing in one would be a wise decision so that you can enjoy any event with peace-of-mind knowing that your valuables are safe!

Here are all the benefits that come along with a backpack that has hidden stash pockets.

1.) Safety

What is your or your mom’s number one concern when you are attending an event? Your personal safety, of course! Theft is a huge issue not only at festivals but all over the world. At GenZ, we have developed a product that makes your experience safer. Let your mom be at ease knowing that we have your back! Most of these hydration packs have a theft-proof design such as the anti-theft hydration pack.

Apart from theft, it is very common for people to drop their possessions while dancing or jumping around. Backpacks with secret compartments and anti-theft backpacks are beneficial because they come with a compartment where these items cannot fall out. In fact, with the RaveRunner®s secret back pocket, your back actually blacks anything from coming out of the pack!

2.) Bonus Points: Your Hydration Pack Has Secret Pockets

With an anti-theft hydration pack, you are not only getting secret compartments, but you are also getting a way to stay hydrated while adventuring. Carrying a water bottle around is so old school and will get annoying at some point. It is downright uncomfortable to constantly be clutching a piece of plastic. Additionally, the impact of plastic waste at music festivals is becoming a growing concern.

With most attendees consuming alcohol during a festival, hydration becomes vital. Dehydration begins before you even start to feel thirsty. It is a no-brainer to buy a hydration pack for a rave or other festival which has secret pockets to ensure you have enough water with you and your valuables are safe. Click here for tips to stay hydrated at a festival

Hydration Backpack with secret pockets

3.) Additional Storage Space

Yes, your backpack may have great storage. BUT backpacks with secret compartments provide even more storage options. You can carry your
laptop and other large items while still having space to put smaller things that won’t fall to the bottom of your pack. You can keep your personal belongings, such as jewelry, phones, passports, and money in your backpack’s secret pockets.

Having an anti-theft hydration pack is ideal for securing your possessions. You do not have to leave essential things at home because of any storage problems, hydration packs with secret pockets have you covered. Fill your backpack, have a blast, don’t worry! We even have suggestions on what to take to a music festival.

4.) Easy Access

During a festival, in the age of Instagram, it is vital to have easy access to something like your phone. Does your festival bag have pockets that offer easy access to your wallet, money, ID or any other possession? Having secure pockets on your straps is one of the best ways for you to remove things directly without other people seeing what else is inside your backpack. Plus, having these items on your chest makes it incredibly difficult to be pickpocketed without you knowing… But easier for you to buy beer because you don’t have to shuffle through your belongings because they are now securely on your chest.

5.) Excellent Organization

A backpack without secret pockets will force you to keep everything in the main compartment. This will become super frustrating when attempting to pull certain things out of your pack. Right now, if you wanted to find something in your one-compartment backpack you would have to take it off, place it on the ground, and dig around until you found what you need. With an anti-theft hydration backpack, like the RaveRunner®, you don’t even need to take your backpack off to find your valuables.

It is essential to know where to access your phone, wallet, and money, among others, to have a peaceful experience.

When the GenZ team attends festivals we designate each pocket for different things. The hidden shoulder strap pocket is always where we put keys, ChapStick, and other very tiny items. The hidden back pocket is where we put our wallet, cash, ID, and our ticket (if it is not a wristband)

6.) EL Wire Attachment

At music festivals, for example, we have seen many people add light up string wire to their packs. Having a hidden pocket gives users the ability to stash the battery inverter in a convenient spot, rather than just tossing it into a giant compartment.

EL wire is a stylish and fashionable way to improve your rave outfit. Do not limit your fun with a plain old hydration pack. Buy an anti theft hydration pack and brighten your night while securing your personal possessions.

7.) Save time & money

Between not having things stolen, not dropping money on the ground, and not having to leave the crowd to dig around your bag, you will save yourself plenty of money and time. An anti theft hydration pack like the RaveRunner® is competitively in priced with other hydration packs on the market. It is a no-brainer to purchase a product with added benefits that is the same price!

8.) You’ll look sleek and fashionable

Instead of looking like a turtle and having all items sink to the bottom of your pack, secret compartments allow you to spread out where all items reside in your pack. This will come in handy when running around a crowd. It is easy for a backpack to get caught on other people when it bulges off of your back. With an anti theft hydration pack like a RaveRunner®, that won’t happen.

Conclusion

If one of these eight benefits doesn’t personally help you, another one will. From being organized to staying hydrated and safe. Getting a backpack with hidden pockets or an anti theft hydration pack will provide you with a much more enjoyable experience for your next rave, travel plan, or hike!

Different Styles of Snowboards/Skis: Camber, Rocker, & Flat

You’re a snowboarder or a skier. Maybe you’re looking to get your own board and be done with rentals. Maybe you got better last season and are looking to step-up your game with a more advanced pair of skis. Maybe you’re just curious about what styles of snowboards exist. Nonetheless, most snowboards and skis have a certain style. The three main are cambered, flat, and rocker. Now, if you are anything like me, you may have no idea how these names correlate to snowboarding. It’s such a ski-bum thing to do, name styles of boards with funky new-age slang. Typical! It is actually very important that you know what these styles mean. They will affect how you ride, turn, and vibe with your board. So, let’s cut to the chase and tell you what you need to know

Camber

Now this analogy is exaggerated, but think of a cambered snowboard or ski being designed in the shape of a mountain. The tip and the tail are what make contact with the ground. Yes, this may look odd and not make any sense if you were to hold and see it without knowing the meaning. There is a purpose behind this shape. Think about putting body weight on the board, it will flex and the whole board will touch the ground. Now there is some energy/pressure stored in the tip and the tail. This is beneficial for making turns and holding an edge. Your tip and tail will have a harder time skipping across the snow, thus giving you much more control over your ride. Now, this sounds like what every snowboard would want correct? No, not exactly. This board is more of a cruiser, it is not exactly great for people who want to do tricks and play around in the park. If you are shredding some pow, you may find your board dig into the snow and slow you down. That’s no Bueno if you’re trying to keep up with some fast skiers.

Rocker

Rocker is the opposite of camber. Think of a U shape. The main contact point with the ground is in the middle of the board rather than the tip and tail. Think of a surfboard. When a surfer catches a wave, they maneuver on top of the wave with a slippery motion. There turns are delayed and they are a little more “free” out there. This is what a rocker is. While you don’t have as much control over turns and such, the rider can maneuver and bend the board easier while riding. Most people you see in the terrain park are rockin’ a rocker board or pair of skis. See what I did there? Rocker boards don’t dig into the ground, thus making it easier to float on top of powder while riding down Vail Mountain with a fresh foot of pow.

Flat

This is a combination of both camber and rocker. You get the best of both worlds, but the strengths and weaknesses of the two styles and more balanced. Most rental/entry-level boards are flat. It lets the rider figure out what they value in a board or skis.

What is your style?

As a snow-shredder, it is omnipotent to figure out what style of board or skis works best for you. For the longest time, I rock with a rocker style board. I tested out one cambered board and was completely blown away by how much more control and fun I had on this board. I value a nice controlled cruise on the mountain. Rarely will you see me in the terrain park. In conclusion, make sure you are purchasing a snowboard that resonates with you. If you can, try to demo a few different styles of boards. Many mountains will have demo options available in the lodge or ski shop. Don’t think that you are going to find the perfect pair of skis or the best snowboard out there just by shopping on line, you need to catch the vibe and find the board that is calling your name!

How We Designed the Ultimate Lost Lands Hydration Pack

When it comes to our RageRunner Hydration Packs, we don’t mess around. These aren’t just your standard hydropacks: they’re limited-edition drops, and once they sell out, they’re gone forever. That’s what makes each RageRunner special. Every bag has its own unique style, vibe, and purpose.

For the Lost Lands Hydration Pack, we wanted to create something different. A tough, mosh pit-friendly hydro pack that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the prehistoric world of the Land of the Lost.

Starting with Inspiration

Like always, the first step in our process was gathering inspiration. We knew we wanted this pack to feel raw and tenacious. It had to scream Lost Lands – not just another festival bag. We wanted it to fit right in with the dinosaur vibes but still be something practical enough for a festival-goer to rock all day.

We started tossing around some ideas. Gold accents? Hell yes. Shiny and sleek, but nothing too flashy. We didn’t want this pack to steal the show entirely, so we kept the colors monochrome and muted – nothing too wild.

The Search for the Perfect Design

Next, we hit Adobe Stock and searched for elements that would bring our idea to life. Think: Dragon ScalesDinosaur Claw Slash, and all things Jurassic. After browsing for a while, we stumbled on a pattern we liked.

We threw the pattern onto a black base in CLO 3D Garment Design Software to see how it would look, and honestly, it was next-level. But we weren’t done yet. We thought, what if we added neon green to give it that extra edge? After looking at it for a hot minute, we realized it gave off too much of a Monster Energy vibe, so we ditched it. Sometimes, less is more.

The Final Touches

Instead of the green, we opted for a bold blue claw mark that turned out to be perfect. It had the aggressive look we wanted, but still fit the Lost Lands aesthetic. We loved it so much that we decided to make a pink version for the ladies. No lie, we ended up loving the pink one even more. It’s got that extra pop that’ll definitely stand out at the festival.

After finalizing the design, we moved on to printing. We tried two different methods—foil print and sublimation. Both looked good, but when we saw that reflective foil claw under the lights, it was game over. The foil had to be the one. It just popped in a way that sublimation couldn’t match.

A Little Extra for the Drop

Now, we can’t just drop a pack this cool without going all out for the launch. So, we got our animator to create a crazy video featuring dinosaurs chasing the bags through a headbanger soundtrack. Yeah, it might be a little over the top, but that’s the kind of energy this bag deserves. Lost Lands is all about making a statement, and this pack is no exception.

Final Thoughts

Our design process might seem straightforward, but it’s all about finding the right balance between creativity and practicality. We gather inspiration, test new methods, and always push the limits to create something fresh, something different.

The Lost Lands Hydration Pack is more than just a bag – it’s a piece of the festival experience. Whether you’re diving into a mosh pit or just chilling by the stage, this pack’s got your back.

5 Advantages of an LED light up backpack

1) Safety

Being safe is omnipotent when venturing into any outdoor activity. Having an LED light up backpack is the best was to do so. With a color of your choice flashing on your backpack, cars and other automobiles will be able to spot you much easier than if you were to be without a light up backpack. This gives you peace of mind when going out for a run or crossing a busy road during a hike. Additionally, LED backpacks like this one do not emit any heat. This decreases the concern for a fire or burn hazard to the user.

2) Uniqueness

Having a light up backpack will enable you to (literally) stand out from the crowd in any scenario. Light up backpacks are a relatively new design that not many people have seen, let alone heard about. So, don’t be surprised if people come up to you ask where you purchased such a sweet backpack with LED lights.

3) Light Up Backpacks are Easy to Use

You are probably thinking that a light up backpack is super complex and annoying to put together or operate. We are happy to say, you are wrong. Adding batteries is just like putting 2 AA Duracell’s into your TV remote after you have watched too much Netflix, it is simple. To place the lights in your desired area, all you have to do is thread the light string wire through the loops of your RaveRunner Hydration Pack, and voilà.

4) Easily Spot/locate a Light Up Backpack

The greatest benefit of a backpack that lights up is being able to find whoever is wearing it. Even if you are in one of the most crowded events of all time, if you jump onto your friend’s shoulders and peer into the crowd, there is a great chance you will find your buddy hoisting that light up backpack. From losing your friend at a festival to trying to find them in line at Space Mountain at Disney World, the LED backpack will ensure that you never lose sight of anyone again.

5) Creative Outlet

With an LED backpack, you can get in touch with your creative side and thread the wire any way you desire. Some people make cool designs while others do their best to ensure the luminescent wire is attached securely. In theory, you could add more and more wire until your backpack is cover in LED lights. Being able to customize your light up backpack makes it uniquely yours and one-of-a-kind. Not too many people can say that…

Conclusion

With all that being said, it is without question that a backpack with LED lights will brighten up your next outdoor experience. If you are interested in an LED Lightup Backpack, I would highly recommend checking the review on the RaveRunner Hydration Backpack as many people can confirm it is the best that money can buy.

How do Solar Panel Backpacks Work? – And Why You Need One

Solar power, and solar power backpacks, have become a large part of the sustainability discussion in today’s modern world. Many people are still unsure about them because they do not understand how they work or if they are effective. Based on the statistics, more and more people are beginning to utilize backpacks with built-in solar panels.

How often is your phone dying (or dead) when you are out on an outdoor adventure? It’s frustrating, right? If you have experienced this problem, let us break down what a backpack with built in solar panels is and how it can benefit you.

What is a Solar Panel Backpack?

A solar backpack is a basic backpack or bag, with a build in or modular solar panel charger. A solar panel charger is a small device (about the size of an iPhone) and it collects sunlight that gets turned into energy for charging our personal electronic devices.

Most people hear this and instantly think solar panel backpacks are extremely expensive, but that is not the case. This solar panel charger is only $24.99 and can be Velcro-ed onto your backpack. Other solar chargers may run you more, but with that higher prices comes more features.

How does Solar Charging Work?

First, sunlight must strike the surface. That photons from the sunlight then excited the electrons inside the silicon part of the battery. These charged electrons essentially create an electric force that is pushed into the battery. This energy is then stored inside and can be used whenever you please by plugging a device into the USB port.

Why you need a backpack with built in solar panels:

1) Sustainability

Blue Claw RageRunner® Hydration Pack

Solar energy is inexhaustible. There will never be a time that we run out of it. So why not charge our devices from it whenever we can? There’s never a bad time to reduce our carbon footprint. Solar cells do not put out any toxic gas or waste into our environment, making them an ideal source of energy. Finally, you won’t have to deal with any bad smell from gasoline or the annoying noise that comes along with it.

2) Solar Panel Backpacks are Easy to Use

Backpacks with built-in solar panel chargers are not only energy-efficient, but they save you time when operating them. In fact, there is not much operating to do. Most solar panel backpacks have the charger affixed to the top of the bag (right below your neck). This faces the charger up, facing the sun all day long. To access this energy stored in the battery, you simply plug your device into the USB port, and voilà your device is charging. The RaveRunner Hydration Pack’s Solar Panel Charger is affixed with Velcro. This allows you to fully remove the solar battery to charge it via wire or charge your device somewhere other than right on your bag.

3) Water-Resistant

Most Solar chargers are water-resistant. The USB port commonly has a rubber flange that goes into the hole to prevent liquid from entering. The actual panel that absorbs sunlight is completely water-resistant. This makes it a perfect addition to your weekend at a music festival or day at the theme park where all weather elements are possible. Especially when you are riding Splash Mountain at Disney over-and-over again.

4) Versatility

Backpacks with built in solar panels can charge many more things than just your phone. I was able to charge my Garmin Spot Tracking device so that my parents could track me while out in the wilderness on a run. Additionally, I was able to detach the battery and let a stranger borrow it so that they could call an Uber home after a festival. Another time I used my solar panel backpack was before a run when my headphones were dead and I needed to charge them fast. These are just some of my personal examples, if you leave your solar panel backpack in the car or around the house it will undoubtedly come in handy.

Conclusion

Solar panel backpacks have a wide array of usage. There is no reason not to take advantage of these benefits just because you don’t understand how it works. We hope after reading this you too will enjoy the benefits of having a charger on all of your outdoor adventures.

The Best Phone Tether for your Next Event

You are looking for the best phone tether, huh? Well, you’ve found the best recommendation because we have tried them all.  From retractable phone tethers to the kind that come with that generic loop cord that is attached to your grandmother’s phone from the 80’s, we put each one to the test.

Phone tethers are a new product and quite honestly, they are overdue. With theft running rampant at live events and traveling abroad. People need a new option to keep their valuables safe. Additionally, cracked phone screens happy to just about everyone that has ever owned one. This product stops both theft and cracked screens from happening.

Without a doubt the ClutchLoop phone tether is our #1. And before we go into detail as to why, we want to tell you that we have putting each product into a multitude of situations. From testing the strength of the wire, to assessing the quality of the product, we wanted to make sure we chose the best product from all around, not just convenience or quality.

  1. Retractable – Many of these phone tethers come with a long string that hangs around when you don’t have the phone pulled up to your face from the belt loop pocket. Quite honestly, it is super annoying to have all of that dangling. The ClutchLoop is retractable. It is the same system that you’ll find all IT tech employing attaching to their ID. The feature is quite simple, but something that was yet to be made until this past year with festival theft running rampant.
  2. Re-enforced metal cord – We put this metal cord to the test. First we tried our best to break it. We pulled it hard, tried to cut it with scissors, and even tried to twist it and knot it to see if it would cut itself. None of that worked with this phone tether, it was dope. Not many other phone tethers have a cord that is made of re-enforced metal. Some others that we tried were even made of plastic… boring!
  3. Compact – This phone tether was also super small compared to other phone tethers we tested. This is in part thanks to the retractable cord that is incorporated into the phone tether system itself. We were able to clip these on our pants without our styles or outfits being ruined. It was great.
  4. Easy – The final aspect that made the clutch loop our best and most favorited phone tether, was because of how easy it was to setup. If you are using a case, you can anchor the small plastic piece the ClutchLoop includes, inside of the case. Or, if you don’t use a case, you can peel off the sticker and use the 3M tape on the back of it. Although, you are pretty nuts to not be using a case these days…

We highly recommend that you invest in a phone tether. Not just for large events or for traveling, but for everyday life. It has saved me a few times from dropping and cracking my phone, which probably happens even more than theft. First Time Snowboarding Checklist

Preparing for a snowboarding or skiing trip may be overwhelming, especially if you have not done it before. You will need to make a decision between buying and renting the snow equipment. Renting may be a better option if you are new to either sport. It will also open you up to many other brands. Afterward, you will be able to settle on the best brand

I would also highly recommend taking some lessons if you have never hit the slopes before. I promise it will make your time out there much more enjoyable. Snowboarding or skiing lessons will come in handy to help you avoid unnecessary injuries. Both sports are a highly demanding physical activity so you will need you to know how to maneuver, and when to take a break. Getting the newbie lessons from an expert is your best option for avoiding injuries.

When it’s time to make a decision on snowboarding gear, a guide or checklist is essential. The following first time snowboarding checklist will make your snowboarding experience worthwhile.

Snowboard Equipment

This should be your first checklist. There are a few necessities when it comes to gear. Therefore, being keen on your brand selection is key to a successful snowboarding event. Your set of snowboarding gear should have the following:

  • Snowboard– There are 3 main types of board shapes. Camber, which is a very stable, controlled ride. Flat, which gives great control while remaining to feel like you are floating across the snow. And rocker, which provides a very surfer feeling and enables high-level riders to utilize the terrain parks better.
  • Bindings– Bindings vary in flexibility. Flexible bindings will provide more versatility to do tricks, which is why they are more-so for advanced riders. Stable hard bindings provide great support and a stable ride if this is your first time on the snow.
  • Boots– Both of these items pair to be omnipotent when going onto the mountains. Make sure your boots fit snug. Boots that are loose will be tough to control your ride in. Boots that are too tight will put you in the lodge rubbing your in-soles very fast, not fun.
  • Socks– Don’t underestimate the importance of quality snowboard socks. Choose moisture-wicking, cushioned pairs and make sure they’re long enough to fully extend above your boots. This prevents rubbing and sore feet, keeping you warm, dry, and comfortable all day on the slopes.

Snowboarding Outwear

Looking good on the mountain could not only feel good but also come in handy when looking for friends. I wear a retro onesie that my dad wore in the eighties. It is quite flashy with colors of yellow, purple, and teal. There’s no way anyone loses sight of me. Along with nice style, it’s important to have all other essential gear:

  • Snow Jacket/Onesie– Your jacket must be waterproof, have a considerable number of pockets, and is snow specific. If you can get one with a hood and vents that would be awesome. Importantly, the jacket must be able to fend off snow from getting into your pants, thus, it has to be long enough. This is why we recommend a onesie. When you fall, there’s no way for snow to go up your back.
  • Hydration Pack – A proper snowboarding hydration pack with extra pockets and an easy-access bladder is essential to prolonging a day on the slopes with minimal downtime.
  • Snow Pants– If you’re not going to go with a onesie, the pants must be waterproof and able to keep off snow from entering into your boots. Perfects pants are the ones which have inner boot gaiter.
  • Hat– Carrying a hat or a beanie will help cover your head. If you wear a helmet, which you should (get past the “dork” label), wearing a balaclava maybe be more beneficial than a hat.
  • Mittens or gloves– They must be waterproof and can keep you warm for as long as you will spend your day out. I highly recommend mittens as they will certainly keep your hands warmer.
  • Facemask– It is an optional outwear. However, by having it you will shield your face from snow, sun rays and wind as you slid down the mountain. Nothing is worse than your nose freezing and not being able to do anything about it until you stop.

Snowboarding Safety gear

Your safety is paramount during snowboarding. Safety gear will help you avoid injuries, but will also give you the confidence to do more which is critical in snowboarding. You will need the following safety gear for your snowboarding activity.

  • Helmet– Having a helmet will help you avoid head injuries in an event of a fall while on the slopes. Snowboarding falls can happen, even if you consider yourself experienced. Get a helmet which will stand multiple impacts without damage, this will save you some cash. Also, be sure that your helmet is comfortable. This is something you’ll be wearing all day.
  • Goggles– Your eyes are precious, thus, you will need to protect them from snow, sun, and wind. You do not need a very expensive pair at all, but a nice pair with an anti-fog coating on them would be worth the extra cash.
  • Knee pads– They will help protect your knees if you fall on your knees. You don’t really notice them when riding either.
  • Butt pads– As a beginner, you will more than likely spend most of your time on your butt. It is inevitable.
  • Wrist guards– My dad bought these for me as a kid and I fought him on wearing them. Now I wear them every time I hit the slopes. They more than likely have saved me from a sprained wrist once or twice.

Now that we have highlighted the must-have items before you set off for a snowboarding event for the first time, here are some optional ones you may consider to have.

  • Earphones– If you are a music enthusiast, they will help you find a rhythm as you will be snowboarding. Be careful though, as you may not be able to hear other riders.
  • Lunch– If it is a nice powder day, you won’t want to waste much time not riding. Bring a small meal with you that provides some good energy to keep going.
  • Extra Phone Battery – The cold will only drain your phone battery even more. Getting caught without your camera for a nice picture, or the ability to find your friends on the mountain is not fun.

Now that you are familiar with the necessities as a beginner for a snowboarding activity, it is time to get out there and shred. Have fun!
